A person may qualify for permanent residency under EB-2 category if he or she has earned an Advanced Degree or its equivalent. A baccalaureate degree with 5 years of progressive work experience is considered to be equivalent to an Advanced Degree.

The job you apply for must require an advanced degree and you also need proper documentation
- An official academic record showing that you have an advanced U.S. degree or foreign equivalent degree; OR
- An official academic record showing that you have a U.S. baccalaureate degree or foreign equivalent degree. AND
- Letters from current or former employers are required to show that you have at least 5 years of progressive work experience.
