EB-1A Guidelines

People seeking to enter the United States on an EB-1A visa must demonstrate extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, and/or business. Internationally recognized awards, such as a Nobel Prize, Pulitzer Prize, Olympic medal, or Oscar is considered proof of extraordinary ability. EB-1A visa applications must provide evidence of extraordinary ability. According to the USCIS, at least 30% of the following criteria must be met:

  • Receipt of lesser nationally or internationally recognized prizes or awards for excellence

  • Have been asked to judge the work of others, either individually or on a panel

  • Performance of a leading or critical role in distinguished organizations
  • Command a high salary or other significantly high remuneration in relation to others in the field
  • Commercial successes in the performing arts
